Strategy Explanation
This TH3 war/farming layout runs a compact diamond core with layered compartments. A Mortar sits dead center, wrapped by four mini boxes that each hold a single storage (two Gold, two Elixir). The Town Hall is tucked in the northern inner compartment, while the Clan Castle anchors the south. Cannons are placed at 3 and 9 o’clock just outside the core walls to pull Giants sideways, keeping them under Mortar splash as they walk the ring. The lone Archer Tower is set at 6 o’clock with two Bombs in front to catch early Barb/Archer dumps or Wall Breakers. Outside buildings are spaced widely—army camps, collectors, barracks, and builder huts—to slow cleanup and push pathing toward the bottom where the traps and Archer Tower wait.
In wars, the goal is to deny a 3-star by forcing awkward entries, wasting time on the spread outer layer, and protecting the Mortar as long as possible. For farming, the split storages mean even a successful raid usually can’t grab everything.
Strengths
- Central splash: Mortar coverage blankets every storage box and both flanks, punishing mass Barb/Archer swarms typical at TH3.
- Split loot and TH protection: Four isolated storages and a semi-central Town Hall make full wipes harder.
- Anti-Giant pathing: Side cannons pull Giants around the ring instead of straight into storages; they stay under Mortar fire for longer.
- Clan Castle core: Hard to lure from the edge; defending troops trigger late and disrupt pushes.
- Time drain: Builder huts and outer buildings are spread at the edges, shaving seconds off cleanup and helping the anti–3-star plan.
- Trap screen: Two Bombs guarding the Archer Tower punish early funnel troops or rushed Wall Breakers.
Placement Notes
- Keep the Bombs in front of the Archer Tower as pictured; they delete early Archers and weaken Giants.
- Maintain wide spacing on outer collectors/camps to slow pathing and prevent chain snipes.
- If attackers target from the north repeatedly, consider swapping a storage with the Town Hall to force more steps before the TH.
Clan Castle Troop Suggestions
- Best: 1 Baby Dragon (rage when unpaired) or 1 Wizard + Archers. They punish clustered low-level troops.
- Budget: Full Archers. Even low levels force extra troops to lure at TH3.
War Tips
- Set the base slightly south on the war map so attackers feel baited into the Bombs and Archer Tower side.
- Scout for Balloon attackers; if you see them often, request an extra air-targeting CC mix (Archer-heavy).
Upgrade Priorities
- Max the Mortar, then the Archer Tower.
- Bring both Cannons to max.
- Invest in walls around the core diamonds.
- Level Bombs; they matter at TH3 more than you think.
