Strategy Explanation

This compact TH3 war layout uses a diamond-shaped outer wall to channel troops while a tight core protects the Town Hall. The Town Hall sits slightly right of center inside a mini-compartment, backed by two Elixir Storages on the upper side and the Clan Castle tucked to the lower-left of the core. The single Mortar is set on the right interior, overlapping most of the base. Cannons watch the left and lower entrances, while the lone Archer Tower is placed at the top point of the diamond where it’s hard to snipe early. Outside buildings (army camps and builder huts at the top corners, laboratory at the bottom, collectors and barracks scattered on the flanks) stretch pathing and waste time. In wars, the goal is to slow Giants and Archers, keep the Mortar firing, and make the second star (Town Hall) expensive to reach.

Strengths

  • Diamond outer wall funnels Giants inward and away from easy snipes.
  • Storages wrap the core, soaking damage before troops reach the Town Hall.
  • Mortar on the right interior covers almost the entire base and punishes Archer swarms.
  • Archer Tower at the top point is protected by walls and crossfire from the core.
  • Centralized Clan Castle (slightly offset) is hard to lure cleanly at TH3.
  • Corner huts and spread exterior buildings add time pressure for attackers aiming at 2-stars.
  • Good hybrid value: storages are inside while collectors are used as buffer buildings outside.

Base Layout Breakdown (what you see)

  • Core: Town Hall centered with two Elixir Storages above it; Clan Castle just southwest; a Cannon guarding the lower side.
  • Right interior: Mortar covering core and right approach.
  • Top point: Archer Tower behind walls.
  • Left interior: Cannon covering left entries and supporting the core.
  • Outside ring: Army Camps and Builder Huts at the top corners, Laboratory at the bottom, Gold Mines on the right flank, Barracks and Elixir Collectors on the left.

Clan Castle and Trap Advice

Request 1 Wizard + Archers (or a Balloon if your clan can provide it). At TH3 this dramatically boosts defense. For traps, place Small Bombs at common breach points on the bottom and right edges to clip Wall Breakers. If you have a Spring Trap, hide it just behind a likely first break to toss Giants.

Build and War Tips

  • Keep the Mortar a tile or two off the wall so Archers can’t pick it off without stepping into cannon range.
  • Rotate collectors and barracks outside between wars to break attacker muscle memory.
  • Scout for CC-lure spots; if enemies keep pulling your CC, consider nudging the core a tile inward.
